John is a Reformed author and pastor with a passion for the local Church and for the free offer of the gospel to be proclaimed far and wide.

Ordained with Faith Community Church, Tucson, Arizona, he is the founder and President of the Reformation Study Center, serves as the pastor of King’s Church in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and writes at his blog sites of reformationtheology.com and effectualgrace.com

Having now been in Christian ministry for 24 years, he has pastored churches in both England and the USA. He has also enjoyed an extensive traveling ministry, preaching throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia.

John’s passion is to proclaim God as He really is, and the Gospel as it really is, believing that it is impossible to have one without the other. Ministers must preach Christ and him crucified and if evangelicalism is to stand then the pulpit must return to the spirit of the Reformers and the preaching of the gospel of the grace of God. In light of this, he is happy to affirm the five Solas of the Reformation and the biblical doctrines of grace.

For many years John hosted a live 2 hour Christian television program as well as a 30 minute daily Bible teaching radio broadcast, “the Spirit of Faith,” covering central Arizona on KPXQ 1360 AM.

He is also the author of numerous biblical and theological articles which have had wide distribution. Two of his written articles have been included in two new E-Books. The first is “The Work of the Trinity in Salvation” (The Spirit’s Effectual Application of Christ’s Redemption to All the Father Has Given Him); the second, “Intro to Reformed Theology – A Calvinist Survival Guide."

His first book was published in January, 2012, entitled "Twelve What Abouts - Answering Common Objections Concerning God's Sovereignty in Election" and is available at monergismbooks in an e-Book format and at Solid Ground Christian Books in paperback.

John was born and raised in the historic city of Chester, England, situated just a few miles from the border with Wales. Chester was originally founded as a Roman fort with the name Deva Victrix in the year 79 AD during the reign of the Emperor Vespasian.

John desired to become a professional football player (football is known as “soccer” in the USA), being chosen for the Chester Under 19 side while still only 16 years of age. However, the Lord had a different and more exciting path, calling him into the ministry!

Graduating from the Elim Bible College (now re-named Regents Theological College) in 1987, John began his ministry as the Associate Minister of the late Harry Greenwood.

Inspired by a deep desire to proclaim the truth of God’s word without compromise, John is known for his simple, down to earth and clear Bible teaching ministry, which is often blended with humor.

Sensing God’s call to live and serve in the USA is very much a long term assignment, John became a full USA citizen in February, 2003.
